Beat Worthy: Jeep Wagoneer

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is arguably the first SUV in the modern tradition. Its spacious, slow, comfortable, thirsty, is actually capable off-road, tow's nearly anything, and has all the style and size of a barn. 1990 is just about as new as they come and not many other cars from that decade wear wood grain as well as the Jeep-zilla. The ad seems straight forward with all the pertinent information. If you're looking for a capable winter beater with the style of your father's living room, look no further.

Tell Him He's Dreamin': Cadillac Seville Long Hood

Stretching a Cadillac is a concept that predates the rumble seat. Although most Caddys get the extra inches aft of the B-pillar, not in front of the A-pillar. Wire wheels, white wall tires, vinyl roof, and a continental kit complete this malaise custom. Considering a running 1980 Cadillac Seville in need of a paint job is at best a $1500 car, the $17,000 asking price is kind of steep for a questionable custom. Of course the ad leaves out most important details like milage, running condition, and amount of hookers who traversed the rear seat but he's willing to negotiate.

Crush it with a Monster Truck: Gucci Caprice

Gucci edition Cadillacs and AMCs have rolled off the assembly line, but those cars didn't roll "on sum six's." The current owner's "eleven g's investnment" hasn't paid off and it can devalue your neighborhood for only $5,500. Considering a clean stock caprice can fetch $3,000 you get a lot of Gucci for a little money if you're tall enough to close the lambo doors after you climb down. Detroit Craiglist >

Beat Worthy - '66 Vanden Plas

Fancy a British sporting saloon but don't want to go the well traveled Jaguar route? Well, here is a 1966 Vanden Plas for a very reasonable $3500. Considered by the owner as being in "Amazing Condition", this car was recently resprayed in a period two-tone scheme and is equipped with the silky smooth 4L straight six, a heard of cattle in the interior, and more burl than you can shake a stick at.

Tell Him He's Dreamin': Caddy Big-Blocked Kaiser Jeep

Ok, so $3,700 is a bit steep for something like this but if post-apocalyptic, big-block equipped, drop-top military surplus is your bag, then you may not be able to afford to let this one slip away.

The Most Unrewarding Project

On your wish list of engine swaps you may have S14 into a 2002, SR20DET into a 240SX, 454 into a Mercedes R107, 302 into an XJ6, and the list goes on. But how far does the list go before you get to Toyota Sienna V6 into an Intrepid? Now that's time and money well spent.
